Reception at Apiary
Caleb and Emily’s love story can be described in one sentence: “When you know, you know.” The bride and groom met in Austin, Texas, while both living in the Lone Star State. They were engaged five months later and married exactly 300 days after they first met.
The couple’s springtime wedding served as an ode to Fairhope, the bride’s beloved hometown. Celebrating and showing off the Eastern Shore to her out-of-town guests made for a special and meaningful moment for the bride. The weekend kicked off with a Western-themed rehearsal dinner at Oak Hollow Farm, a nod to the Texas beginnings of their relationship. The rest of the weekend was centered in the heart of downtown Fairhope. Saturday was accompanied by a steady drizzle of rain, but it couldn’t dampen the spirits of the many guests who filled Fairhope United Methodist Church for the ceremony. The bride’s strapless lace gown and long veil matched the classic church, and the couple said their vows in a joy-filled exchange, surrounded by their family and friends.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds went to the Pier Street pier to take photos while their guests gathered for a cocktail hour at Apiary. The space was decorated with greenery and florals, bringing a little bit of the outdoors into the reception. After the newlyweds’ entrance and the first dances, all enjoyed food, music and dancing the night away before sending the new Mr. and Mrs. Howard off in a romantic sparkler exit.
