March 14, 2026 // Ceremony and reception at the bride’s grandparents’ home
Family history, a familiar setting and all their loved ones made for a dream wedding day for Mary Caitlyn and Will. Ever since she was a little girl, the bride dreamed of having her wedding at her grandparents’ home in Mobile. The house was built by her grandfather in 1983 and is the house where the bride’s mother and uncle were raised. The bride has fond memories of visiting every single holiday, birthday dinner and celebration there, making it the best place to host her big day.
A sunny Saturday greeted guests at the home for the late afternoon ceremony on the lawn near the lake. Blue and green, the newlyweds’ favorite colors, combined into a serene and sophisticated palette that was present across the ceremony and reception. The bride wore a satin dress with a lace cap-sleeve jacket, and she and her groom said their vows in front of a flower-adorned cross. Afterward, the reception began in the backyard. After the newlyweds’ first dance, all took to the dance floor and enjoyed drinks from the bar; the bride’s grandparents made both the dancefloor and the bar for their granddaughter’s wedding day. All enjoyed dancing to the Park Band, just like the couple did in college.
As evening settled in, all donned “Rollin’ with the Reeves” hats and enjoyed a late-night wedding snack of boiled peanuts before grabbing Alabama shakers for the send-off, a nod to the beginning of the bride and groom’s relationship at the University of Alabama. The new Mr. and Mrs. Reeves made their exit to their getaway car, ending a memory-filled day at the beloved family home.
