Michelle Rene Ryan & Robert Earl Day

Michelle and Robert were united in marriage at Ashland Place United Methodist Church on December 2, 2023.

December 2, 2023 // Ashland Place United Methodist Church, Reception at Byrne Memorial Hall

Michelle and Robert’s wedding day was marked with meaningful details. The bride’s mother carried a hand-carved mother of pearl Bible, the same one she carried in her own wedding in 1973, at the Ashland Methodist Church ceremony. The bride presented the couple’s parents and groom with hand-carved hearts made from fallen olive wood branches in the Holy Land, the same place her mother purchased the Bible she carried in her wedding. During the ceremony, the bride’s cousin, Gabrielle Lovelace, read the poem “I Carry Your Heart With Me” by EE Cummings; the wedding bands were engraved with the poem’s title. At the reception, guests enjoyed food, drinks and football, with a TV displaying the SEC Championship game. The couple made their exit waving red-and-white Alabama shakers before being whisked away in a 1962 Rolls Royce Phantom V limousine.
