Sometimes, all you need is a good sandwich. In that case, Stamped Sandwich Company is here to serve. From well-loved classics to innovative versions, the eatery is doing it all in a familiar spot just off Old Shell Road.
For three years, POST on the Hill has served cocktails and small bites. Now, it’s also the point of origin for the sandwich business. When customers step into the restaurant on weekdays, the same atmosphere they love during happy hour or a weekend get-together greets them. But, for just a few hours, gone are the charcuterie boards, POST toasts and craft cocktails. Instead, customers are greeted by creative sandwiches tailormade for the lunch rush.
The concept is Luke Peavy’s brainchild. “Everywhere I travel, I find a local sandwich shop and try it out,” he says. His brother and business partner, Jake Peavy, along with business partner Matt LeMond, suggested turning the love into a sandwich shop in Mobile in the same location as POST on the Hill. “It was too perfect of a situation,” he says. “We’re already paying rent, we’re not open for lunch and we have a full kitchen, so it just kind of felt right to do it here.”
Originally, the menu was going to be simpler and more contained. But the self-professed sandwich fanatic couldn’t help himself. “It expanded,” he says. “We have weekly rotating sandwiches and rotating sides.”
The menu is stacked with mouthwatering options. Classics like the Caprese (pro tip: add prosciutto for an upgrade) and The Big Dipper (the restaurant’s name for a French dip) will keep sandwich purists more than happy. More innovative options include BLCheesus, which pairs jalapeno pimento cheese with bacon, lettuce and tomato for a must-try lunch, and Jake’s favorite, Bologna and Clyde. His masterpiece combines fried bologna with pepper jack for a warm, comforting sandwich that keeps you coming back. The rotating sandwiches will be more creative — think chicken parm or buffalo chicken wraps — and some will coincide with a theme, like November’s Thanksgiving sandwich. For the non-sandwich lovers, the menu also features soups and sides that are quite the draw on their own.
Stamped Sandwich Company creates sandwiches that are hard to put down (literally). The meat is sliced the day of, and sandwiches are made after being ordered at the counter, conveniently served in a to-go box so customers can take lunch back to the office or opt to sit at the tables inside or out with a glass of wine or beer. “I really wanted to focus on a quick, good-quality lunch,” says Jake. “And I just love sandwiches, so it was meant to be.”

On the Menu
NOT THE COUNTRY CLUB
You’re going to want to join (eat) this club. Smoked turkey, black forest ham, mayo, cheddar, bacon, tomato and romaine lettuce are piled high atop sourdough.
BOLOGNA AND CLYDE
Truly one of a kind, this sandwich features thick-cut fried bologna, pepper jack cheese and mayo on sourdough. A sprinkling of jalapeno kettle chips finishes the magnum opus.
BLCHEESUS
BLT but make it spicy. The cult classic sandwich is given a hot Southern upgrade with jalapeno pimento cheese. Better grab a few napkins. This one gets messy.
CAPRESE
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Pesto, arugula, mozzerella and tomato are drizzled with balsamic glaze and packed into a baguette for a lunch that leaves you wanting (a)more.
CALI TURKEY
Chipotle mayo adds a subtle punch of smoky flavor to sliced American cheese, smoked turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato and micro arugula, all served on top of a baugette.
