Ceremony at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Reception at the Beal-Gaillard House (The Bride’s Family Home)
Ann Mason and Michael use two words to describe their wedding: pure joy. The weekend was packed with meaning at every turn. The couple was married at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church during the same week in which the bride’s parents were married 33 years earlier.
The reception took place at the Beal-Gaillard House, the bride’s family home built in 1836. 200-year-old camellias growing in the front yard — among the oldest in Alabama — accented the custom details, including drapery and a hand-painted bar, at the reception. The tent framed the house in a picturesque scene that underscored the importance and meaning of celebrating in the places that shaped the bride. The color palette was inspired by lilac, the bride’s favorite hue, incorporated in all design elements throughout the venue to create a feeling of warmth and whimsy.
The energetic atmosphere was palpable as guests enjoyed food, drinks, dancing and music. The dance floor stayed full late into the evening, as Pirate’s Cove burgers and fries were served to pay homage to the bride’s summers spent at Ono Island alongside beignets to honor the groom’s childhood in Louisiana, the perfect complements to a joyous and profoundly personal day.
