November 22, 2025 // Ceremony at Our Savior Catholic Church, Reception at Fort Whiting
When Mulan started wedding planning, she knew her and Will’s wedding was going to be two things: big and unique. Her November wedding ended up being all of that and more. The bride fused her Vietnamese-American background with a Catholic nuptial Mass and reception. The Mass at Our Savior Catholic Church was bilingual, attended by a plethora of family and friends, and a string quartet added to the romantic atmosphere. The parents of the bride surprised the couple at Mass by arranging a papal blessing for their marriage, the perfect way for them to begin life as husband and wife.
At the Fort Whiting reception, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour featuring the bride’s cousin’s charcuterie and catering with a charcuterie board and Vietnamese egg roll spread. After the traditional Vietnamese-style dinner that contained 10 courses, the newlyweds shared their first dance and followed the custom of visiting each table for a toast with their guests, emphasizing closeness with each of their many guests. As the hour drew late and Krispy Kreme doughnuts were served, guests and the newlyweds danced to the music, staying on the dance floor the rest of the night.
